The Battle

I walked a mile tonight. Probably wouldn't have done that if it hadn't
been a hard day with The Baby.
The battle going on right now is over eating sugar. There is a whole
lot of sugary goodness that wouldn't be in this home if my mom hadn't
just been for a visit. I won the battle yesterday. It was over a fun
size bag of peanut M&Ms. Kept on looking at it on the counter and
finally hid it in the fridge so it would be out of sight out of mind.
The problem is this morning I discovered there is a bag of mac nut
kisses in plain view in the door of the fridge. I didn't hide them
today. I guess you could say I like walking on the edge of danger. I
actually was doing okay today, especially considering the hard day
with The Baby until I heard my Husby open the freezer door and I
suddenly remembered we have ice cream. We rarely have ice cream, not
because we rarely buy ice cream, but because I regularly devour it
before it can be regularly in our house. So, I have learned tonight
that hearing the freezer door open anytime after dinner is a trigger
for an immediate ice cream craving.

Thus the battle.

The last few nights I have brushed my teeth shortly after dinner which
has helped with any late night involuntary snacking. I hate brushing
my teeth twice. Chalk it up to laziness- I guess you have to
capitalize on your weaknesses where you can. It's 9:00 and I still
haven't brushed. Good thing there is a sleeping baby on my lap to help
with the battle for today.
Will we be victorious? Tune in tomorrow to find out.
