I am feeling particularly unhealthy today... especially after I visited this site. And I'm wondering why I started a healthy living blog when in all honesty I'd rather be baking and blogging than wogging and blogging. Sigh. I guess that is because the reality is what it is - eating a chocolate cake roll is easier than exercising. And somehow I am going to find a way to create wog cravings and lose, or at least diminish, the chocolate cake roll cravings. And I'm sure the first step in that is to stop saying the phrase chocolate cake roll. Okay, I'm done. Now on to a new paragraph that will make me forget the brown and white goodness.
So, how is your day going? Are you feeling blah-ish or are you on top of things, seizing the day?
Here where I live, things get blamed on the full moon a lot. It apparently affects behavior and attitude. I'm thinking that must be my problem or at least makes for a good excuse. What do you do on your full moon days? Do you fight it and get up and moving or do you give in and relax? I've read that the best thing to do is put on your shoes and exercise for 5 minutes. If at the end of those 5 minutes you are still exhausted then you really do need the rest so give it to yourself guilt free. However, more often than not you will feel energized after those 5 minutes and will feel better and more in the mood to tackle the day and may even turn that 5 minutes into 20 or 30. The trick is doing the 5 minutes. But you're probably thinking 5 minutes might as well be 5 years on blah days. I agree. So my solution - bribe yourself. Tell yourself you can watch your favorite TV show or you can have a cookie or you can do whatever it is that normally gives you guilt after you exercise. After all, balance in life makes a happy person.
I'll let you know if I take my own advice...
Trent is always so good at that ... (not so much me .. yet;) He wakes up and jogs in place in our itty bitty hallway(the only location in the whole house that doesn't shake all of the decor loose just by someone jogging on our floor!). He really does have a better morning attitude than me and he seems much more energized to start his day. And now that I'm writing that I realize I'm crazy for not joining him (in our cozy "hallway" of course) ... because I want more energy and positive-ness in the morning!
